Copic Storage Idea

A couple of years ago I saw this fantastic idea for storing your Copic Sketch Markers on this blog, but living in Canada I could not find a source for the Art Bin Storage case, soooooo.......the hunt was on.  Before leaving the house on my mission to find a suitable container, I measured the height of a single Copic Sketch marker, and with a trusty little green plastic ruler my mission began.
It didn't take me too long to find the perfect solution at one of the local Homesense stores, and the fact that the box had a zipper to close it was an added bonus!!!

There are usually three sizes of this type of box available, but the smaller version is not quite tall enough, and the larger one is just too big, while the middle size is just perfect (kind of sounds like the story of Goldilocks).  My next stop was a local hardware store to buy the ceiling grid ( which can actually be cut into enough sections to fill three of these boxes ), and then home to assemble it all!!  When I placed the grid inside of the box, I choose to just layer two pieces of the grid at the bottom of the box, and not bother with the corner supports, as was suggested in the original blog post

The photo above was taken before I owned all of the colors, but I now have all of the markers minus the fluorescent colors, and I still have the extra room for the clear white storage box that holds gel pens, extra nibs and the refill booster needles.

I love the fact that my markers are now stored in order, and that the case is very portable!  If anyone is looking for a great way to store your own collection of Copic Storage Markers, I suggest a quick trip to either a HomeSense store in Canada or Home Goods in the US.

It's Your Day

The month of August has flown by and today is my last BIRTHDAY themed card for the monthly challenge at One Crazy Stamper.

Just before my move back in May, I cleaned out my Distress Ink Palettes, and just never seemed to have the time to get the inks refilled.   So I finally pulled out all of my Tim Holtz Distress Re-inkers and filled my palettes, and the end result is this little birthday card.  I inked the House Mouse "Spa Day" with Tsukineko Black Onyx ink and stamped it on watercolor paper, and then got busy using my water brush and the distress inks to color the image.  To enhance the bubbles I used Stardust Stickles to add sparkle and shine.

Card Recipe
Flowers - Shaded Lilac, Seedless Preserves
Leaves - Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint
Mouse Faces - Tattered Rose, Tea Dye

Happy Hippo Birthday

Today's Birthday themed card for the monthly challenge at One Crazy Stamper is a clean and simple design!

The card base is just a piece of yellow cardstock with a layer of dp from Echo Park Paper's Beautiful Life collection, and finished with a piece of white cardstock embossed with an older Cuttlebug folder.  A simple piece of ribbon was wrapped around the embossed paper before it was adhered to the card front.  The adorable image is one of three included on the Whimsy Stamps Happy Birthday to You set available here
The Copic colors that I have used are shown in the below photo -

How Old Are You?

Older than the Earth maybe?  For this weeks card at One Crazy Stamper's monthly challenge ( and the theme this month is Birthday!!! ) I've used a High Hopes stamp that I have owned for awhile, but never inked and colored till now!!

The image is Birthday Belle that I inked with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Copic Xpress It cardstock, and then colored with Copic Sketch Markers.   I then cut and matted the image with a Spellbinder die then mounted it on dp from Bo Bunny's Mama-razzi2 collection.  The charm, ribbon, sentiment and Tim Holtz film strip are all from my stash!!!

Birthday Challenge!!!

It's the start of a new month, so that means that there is a new monthly challenge theme over at One Crazy Stamper, and the theme is BIRTHDAY.

I have had this cute image from Whimsy Stamps entitled "Birthday Baby Girl" for awhile now, and just never had the time to ink it up and color it, so the BIRTHDAY theme is the perfect time.  I stamped the image with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Copic Xpress It cardstock, and then colored her with Copic Sketch Markers Stardust Stickles highlight the dots and flower centers.  The image was matted with cardstock, then mounted on dp's from Echo Park's Beautiful Life collection.  The ribbon, flowers sentiment, and buttons, are all from my stash.
